On Friday night in Luverne, Jake Isaak (So., Byron) scored two goals in the first period. Isaak dumped the puck in and hustled to the net after the goalie could not cover it up fast enough. Luverne tied the score at 2-2 at 3:33 of the third period, but Brendon Wolesky (So., Byron) slammed in the game winner at 7:59 of the third period. On the power play, Isaak and Wolesky were parked in front of the net when McPeak took a shot from the point. The goalie rejected the Isaak rebound, but Wolesky was not to be denied. Isaac Dale (So., Pine Island) made 24 saves and got some help from the post and crossbar as Luverne banged 4 shots off the iron.
