Wildcats Face Tough Task In Season Opener On Saturday, November 23

Kasson, MN—As the saying goes, “To be the best, you have to beat the best”.

The Dodge County Wildcats open their season on Saturday, November 23 at 4:15 p.m. versus Hastings at Hastings Civic Arena. The Raiders are coming off a 19-4-1 season and garnered the #1 seed in the Section 1AA playoffs. They lost to eventual state qualifier Lakeville South in the section quarterfinals. Hastings returns their top three scorers in Jonathon Peine (36 pts), Chase Freiermuth (32 pts) and Jack Klimek (32 pts). Last year, Dodge County lost to Hastings 10-0.

Dodge County turned in a 9-16 season last year and is looking forward to turning things around in 2019-20. The Wildcats also return their top scorers in Charlie Blaisdell (KM, 18 pts), Ethan Dale (Pine Island, 14 pts), Isaac Rogne (Byron, 14 pts) and Cade Spreiter (KM, 12 pts). The Wildcats have been working hard in practice and had a good showing last weekend in the Owatonna scrimmage.

The Wildcats home opener is Wednesday, November 27 at 7 p.m. versus Tartan. Come burn some calories cheering for the Wildcats before your Thanksgiving Day feast.
